Texas Urban Realty and Texas Urban Property Management Broker and Owner Christine Chau talked about post-pandemic Austin real estate on "Weekly Real Estate Lunch and Learn: Orange County and Austin Markets", hosted by Spencer Hsu Real Estate and Investments. The conversation centered on the effects of COVID-19 on the real estate market and what will happen as markets open more fully.

"I think things are going back to normal really quickly in Austin,” said Chau. “We have a really resilient market, super strong. Everybody wants to be in Austin. It's still a great place to invest."

She described early spring as a “pause”, with the markets already picking back up as we head toward summer. “I think in Austin we’re going to end up very strong. We're going to have a very strong spring. I feel like we're going to have a strong winter. We have really low unemployment in Austin, we have all the tech here that is continuing to grow. We're going to have a very strong year and next year.”

In the meantime, while the market revs back up, Chau added, “Sellers want to sell their homes. There are buyers that want to buy properties. We've just got to make it work.”
