Texas Urban Realty opted to split monthly donation funds between several fundraisers for October 2020’s Giving Back program. “This month was all about sharing the love!” said TUR Founder Christine Chau. “We were able to help a wide variety of worthy efforts through our Giving Back program, and we’re really hopeful we’ve been able to make an impact. It’s inspiring to see people want to make a difference in their communities and in the lives of others.”
Here are the beneficiaries of Texas Urban Realty's October 2020’s Giving Back donations:
Vanessa Borras' Fundraiser for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
“My father passed away on July 26, 2020, and today we hold his memorial service. I could not be there in person, but I want to celebrate him,” said Borras. “I want to honor his memory by donating to a cause he was truly passionate about and that was St. Jude’s Children’s Research fund. My father did charity work to the very last day of his life - always caring for those around him during his last chapter. Dad, I love you, and know I will try to live my life helping those around me the way you did.”
Josephine Tov’s St. Jude Walk/Run for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
Tov said, “Even in challenging times, the lifesaving work of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital continues. In moments that separate us, we come together as one for those who need us most. Because together, nothing is impossible.”
Tov credited St. Jude with pushing the overall survival rate for childhood cancer from less than 20 percent when they first opened their doors to 80 percent today. She also pointed out that families at St. Jude never receive a bill “because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.”
Bob Magee's Fundraiser for Susan G. Komen Greater Central & East Texas
Magee started the fundraiser “in honor of my Love & 9 year survivor, Christi Davidson-Magee! Our mission is to save lives and end breast cancer forever!”
Bryan Pham's Birthday Fundraiser for BetterBrave
BetterBrave combats sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace by providing resources, tools, and employment lawyers to targets. “Together, I know we can make impactful changes and accomplish this goal,” said Pham.
Texas Urban Realty and Texas Urban Property Management donate $500 each month to a non-profit or other organization through the Giving Back program. Non-profits may apply for consideration for the donation from the Texas Urban Realty Giving Back page. It’s also required that organizations make a short video about why they should be chosen and tag @texasurbanrealty on Facebook in the post.
